Related products is a PrestaShop module that solves the problem of one-way product associations. In standard PrestaShop, when you add product B as related product A, product A will not appear automatically as a related product of product B. This module automates the creation of reverse connections.

Main functions:

  • Automatic sync - After saving the product, the module automatically creates missing reverse links
  • Manual sync - button in admin panel for instant synchronization of all connections
  • CRON Support - URL for automatic background synchronization with token protection
  • Efficient SQL Logic - Bulk INSERT one query for syncing all products

How it works:

  • When you set a B-related product in product A, the module will check whether there is an A-related link in product B
  • If it does not exist, it will automatically create them
  • Works with both product recording (hook) and by CRON (for full reliability)

Recommendations:

  • In PrestaShop 8.x related products are saved by a separate CQRS process - hook may not catch changes in the same request
  • Therefore, it is recommended to set CRON (e.g. once a day) as a complement to automatic synchronization

Can I manually sync all product associations?
Shop answer:
Yes, there is a button in the module configuration panel for immediate manual synchronization of all connections in the store. Once clicked, the module will scan all existing related products and create any missing reverse links. The panel also shows information about the last synchronization and the number of bindings added.
