Help customers find the right product as they type. Advanced PrestaShop Search combines live results, typo tolerance and synonyms with popular queries, recent searches and recommended products. It uses your store's data without a subscription to an external search service.
Customers do not always know a product's full name. They may enter the beginning of a word, a reference, a brand name or a query with a typo. The psoft_smartsearch module adds live suggestions and a clear product panel to PrestaShop search. Images and current prices appear as customers type, without reloading the page.
Customers can narrow results by category, sort by relevance or name, and load more products. The panel adapts to the screen width, supports keyboard navigation and links directly to the selected product page.
Customers see recommended products before entering a query. You can give selected products priority; other suggestions are ordered by sales in the current store and then by newest products. Prices, currency and taxes come from PrestaShop.
Popular queries come from available PrestaShop search statistics and searches recorded by the module. Only queries that lead to products accessible to the customer are shown. If the store has no relevant data yet, this section stays hidden. Recent searches are stored in the customer's browser, so they can return to a previous query or clear their history.
Configure the accent colour, number of results, popularity period, synonyms and priority recommendations in the back office. Enable or disable typo correction, history and statistics separately. A report of searches, including queries with no results, helps you identify missing synonyms and products customers are looking for.
The module uses its own index, updated when products are saved. You can rebuild it from the configuration after importing data. It respects the store context, language, product activity and customer group permissions. No account or subscription with an external search provider is required.
